Back in 2010, our founder was a college student juggling a full-time job and a mountain of textbooks.
Sound familiar? He knew something had to give. So, he took a leap of faith, ditched the 9-to-5, and dove headfirst into his studies… and into the world of hardwood floors.
What started as a way to pay the bills quickly turned into a passion. Each refinished floor, each perfectly laid plank, sparked a sense of pride and accomplishment. And people noticed. Friends, family, and neighbors raved about their beautiful new floors, and soon, the calls started pouring in.
Fast-forward to today, and Functional Floors is a team of passionate flooring experts who still get a thrill out of transforming spaces. We’ve grown a lot since those early days—we now have 19 crews, a bustling office, and a 5,000-square-foot showroom in Livonia—but our core values remain the same
