Hometown to Headlines: Ashlee Baracy Luncheon

From Westland roots to Emmy-winning meteorologist, join us for lunch and hear from John Glenn graduate and WDIV’s Meteorologist Ashlee Baracy.

Ashlee Baracy is an Emmy award-winning meteorologist who was born and raised in Metro Detroit. You can catch her 4Warn Weather forecasts on WDIV weekday mornings, at noon and streaming on Local4+. She has been recognized by both the Michigan Association of Broadcasters and Ohio Associated Press Media Editors for “Best Weathercast.”

Ashlee's greatest pride and joy are her two children. During her first pregnancy, she inspired a conversation about body positivity through her experiences with body shaming. Her message went viral making headlines in the New York Post, People Magazine and on the Today Show. She is passionate about raising awareness for cancer in honor of her parents who are both survivors. In 2013, Ashlee and her mother were honored as "Heroes of Breast Cancer" by the Karmanos Cancer Institute for their advocacy work. Ashlee served as Miss Michigan 2008 and was a top ten finalist in the Miss America pageant. She is also a former captain of the University of Michigan dance team.

Ashlee graduated from John Glenn High School in Westland. She holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Michigan, a Broadcast Meteorology Certification from Mississippi State University and has a Master of Science degree from Eastern Michigan University.
